Day one of solo trip complete and here are some highlights:
Was asked for directions two different times - once in French and once in Spanish. I was flattered they thought I would know. I sorely disappointed them both.
Instead of that thing where a customer leaves a phone number for their server...a French waiter left me his number on the bottom of my receipt.
When you’ve walked all day on little sleep, finishing out the evening by climbing the Arc de Triomphe really doesn’t feel good. But it’s worth it for this panorama sunset view. I sat up there for over an hour to take it all in.
I’m exhausted and still can’t believe I’m here.
